DRAFT Principles and Criteria for Global Sustainable Beef

The public comment period on these draft principles and criteria is now closed  The technical working groups are in the process of reviewing all comments and revising the document.  An announcement will be made when the revised document is available.

Below, you will find GRSB's DRAFT Principles and Criteria for Global Sustainable Beef production, processing and retail, it is intended to be high level and to build upon our vision and mission;

We envision a world in which all aspects of the beef value chain are environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable.

The mission of the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef is to advance continuous improvement in global beef value chain sustainability, through leadership, science, and multi-stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

This draft, therefore, addresses the levels of Principles and Criteria. It deliberately avoids the more context specific levels of Indicators, Metrics or Practices. The development of these principles has involved both members and external experts in all fields, from producers, extension and academic organisations, processors and NGOs to food safety and animal health experts.

The redrafted document will be made publicly available for review from the end of June.
